Advocacy, Counseling, and Education for Mental Health

    David Daesoo Kim had always been passionate about mental health and had noticed a lack of resources and support for Asian Americans in his community. Despite the growing need for mental health services among Asian Americans, there were few culturally-competent resources available. He witnessed first-hand the stigma and shame that often prevented individuals from seeking help, and recognized the need for a safe and supportive space where Asian Americans could receive quality mental health care.

     P.E.A.C.E. was birthed through the painful labor of working with the AAPI communities in GA and has started it is a slow journey to provide as much resources as possible for those who may be falling through the cracks.P.E.A.C.E. stands for People's Empowerment through Advocacy, Counseling, and Education. We believe these are the most important pillars to help create change.

We will create and continue to create a team of mental health professionals who share his vision of empowering Asian Americans to prioritize their mental wellness and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health in the community. Together, we will develop a comprehensive approach that includes education, counseling, and advocacy, all guided by a culturally-competent framework that recognizes the unique experiences and needs of Asian Americans.
